3-rd day worm, or as soon as we become smarter!Panic spreads about www. Users are horrified anticipating February, 3-rd. Internet has recently been attacked by the terrible malware that had already damaged hundreds of thousands of PCs and still take turns…
According to different sources Nyxem.e worm (also known as Tearec.A etc.) malicious activity threatens catastrophic consequences. Among those are destroying data which files of most widespread formats contain on February the 3-rd, neutralizing protection installed on the PC, resending itself to all e-mail addresses found, making its copies on all Internet resources available from the damaged PC and with all this periodically downloading its updates from Internet! Not a bad set! According to the amount of such warnings in www one may think the PC Armageddon is coming soon! But is it really so?

Unfortunately almost all personal users and sometimes even companies representatives do not still realize the necessity and vital importance of PCs and corporate networks efficient protection against malwares and unauthorized access. There are hundreds of reasons, from protecting personal data, account and credit card numbers to top secret billion dollars commercial info! And the only protection possible is EFFICIENT!!!
Naturally the efficiency comprehension differs from one man to another as you may ask “Why not antiviruses? Are they really bad?!” Not at all. And it means signature updates are so much late! Your antivirus cures the already damaged files and fails to do anything with other losses! Do you really want the protection that doesn’t work?!
The fact is today traditional security software fail to combat the avalanche of new, more and more sophisticated types of threats. The way out of this situation is applying innovational proactive (preventive) technologies based on applications system behavior analysis. These technologies block dangerous activity before the latter could make any harm to the system or running applications. Today without preventive technologies PC and corporate networks security is impossible. When users eventually understand the protection must be preventive and anticipatory but not the consequences curing than there will be no panic and thoughts like “doomsday’s coming”.
